8 Ways To Improve Results In Your Life And Work

8 Ways to Improve Results in life and businessIt is essential to take time regularly to stop, take a step back and review progress of your most important goals.

Proactively looking for ways to improve the results you are getting in your life and work will help you get on the right track to better results and stay there.

For those of you thinking “I am far too busy – I haven’t got time for all that” I would argue that you don’t have time not to do it – achieving your most important goals depends on it.

Results don’t happen by accident. They happen because you have taken the time to work out what you need to do to achieve them.

They happen because you are regularly checking you are taking the necessary actions to keep you on the right track.

Doing this is the navigation tool to get you on the right track and keep you there.

It is that important. So making the time to do this is a no brainer.

Here is an 8 step process that, if you implement and action regularly and consistently, will help you improve your results and stay on track to achieve your most important goals:

1. Get crystal clear on what you want to achieve by when.

The more specific you are on this the better. Always make sure your goals have a set timescale.

2. Identify the key factors that need to happen for you to deliver those results.

Once you are clear on the factors that will deliver the results you want, you are in a position to create good quality action plans to focus your time and energy working on those things.

3. Set monthly targets for the factors you have identified.

You need to set targets so that you know exactly what you need to achieve by when. This will help keep you on the right track. It will also help you easily spot if you are off track so that you can take corrective action.

4. Set monthly & weekly action plans based on those factors & targets.

If your action plans are based on the factors and targets that will deliver the results you most want to achieve, you will keep yourself on the right track to achieving your most important goals.

5. Review your target v actual results every month.

Reviewing progress regularly will allow you to be proactive in making any necessary changes. It will also help you identify little problems before they become huge problems.

6. Use the results of your monthly review to drive targets & action plans moving forward.

Momentum is a powerful results driver. Every month keep updating and setting new targets and action plans and the momentum you create will help you consistently improve results.

7. Make sure you are managing your time to prioritise the actions linked to your most important goals.

You can have the best goals, targets and action plans in the world, but if you aren’t managing your time to prioritise these things you are not going to get the results you really want. Make sure your time management plans prioritise the factors you have identified as your key results drivers.

8. Repeat this process monthly

Doing this process once and thinking “job done” isn’t going to cut it. For this process to work effectively and deliver results consistently you need to be doing it monthly, at least!

Make sure you block out some time in your diary every month to work this process to help you improve the results you are getting in your life and work.
