Julie, risk taking is like any other behaviour - the more you do it the easier it becomes. Then one day you discover it has just become a habit, second nature and a way of being. Also once you see the benefits, it becomes a no brainer.

You got it -- Ali! "As a result, I didn’t have the career or lifestyle I really wanted. I realised that to have what I really wanted I was going to have to take some serious risks." Me too!

That is so true Ben. After taking the risk of leaving the Corporate world to run my own business and moving from the UK to Ireland to live, taking claculated risks has become easier and easier. Once you do a couple if "biggies" taking calculated risks becomes just a way of being as seeing the benefits outweighs staying in the comfort zone hugely. Interestingly, looking back, staying in the comfort zone was often a painful place to be!

You have to take risks in life. They expand your comfort zones and once your stretched them they can't return to their original size. You become bigger and stronger for taking a risk.

You can't win the game if you're not on the playing field

Fear really does paralyse many people., yet it doesn't exist. It is a feeling that is generated from a thought pattern. Learning to change thought patterns and habits is a very powerful way deal with fear. This is why I am so passionate about the whole area of Mindset and the impact it has on business, career, life and families.

Yes, no risk, no fun !

But fear in general is so overrated. I've started to listen to my inner voice - my intuition - about a year ago and my life has changed in ways I can't fully grasp. Fear is always growing in your mind - it's an illusion (the fear that's created by society , not the primal fear). If you really have a deep connection with your body, then you know which risk to take. And it's not even risk anymore, it's paving the path to your destiny. As long as you follow your inner voice, you'll act according to your role in the universe. Then fear will become obsolete. The most fearful people are the ones that are out of tune with their soul.

Ali,

A great tip from your Uncle Chris. Learning to live outside our comfort zone will allow us to experience the discomfort of making changes and taking a risk.

Regards

Paul

Walter, your point about people staying in their comfort zone is so true. Yet it is only when we step out of our comfort zone that we can move to a different place. There is a need to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable!!! Thanks for dropping by.

Few people understands the wisdom behind taking risk. It has been the habit of our mind to secure itself within its comfort zone. No wonder few succeeds in life. :-)
