3 Essentials for Success

3 Essentials for SuccessDo you want to up your level of success and get the results you really want in all areas of your life?

If so, a good starting point is to assess how you currently measure up against some of the common factors that are present in people who achieve the results they want consistently.

Here are 3 of the most important ones:

1. Mindset

This is for me the most important contributing factor to success and getting the results you want in all areas of your life.

Here’s why:

Mindset creates thought patterns – thought patterns create feelings – feelings create behaviour/actions – actions create results.

Whatever results you are getting right now started with your mindset.

I have spent the last few years studying mindset – what creates it, how to change it and the impact it has on success in all areas of life. I can tell you from personal experience, changing this one area alone can totally transform success in every area of your life.

2. Build strong foundations

When I am talking about building strong foundations I am talking about the having things in place on which you can build the life and results you really want. We are talking about factors such as vision, strategy, goals, action plans, support, boundaries, time, energy, to name but a few.

The problem is, this essential part of creating the life and results you really want is often neglected. As a result, you are risking not having a strong enough foundation on which to build the life you really want for yourself.

Think of a car. You can put in a fancy music system, give it a trendy colour and add on as many gadgets as you like. However, if the engine isn’t working properly there is no way it is going to get you to where you want to go. Having strong personal foundations are the engine of your life. Neglect them at your peril!

3. Who you are being

We live in a world that is overly focussed on what we are doing. People are often driven by never ending to-do lists.

Yet the key to achieving results consistently lies in who we are being. Who you are being in a situation will drive the outcome of the situation.

Shifting focus from what you need to “do” to who do you need to “be” to achieve specific outcomes is very powerful. It will help you create awareness and identify things you need to learn or habits you need to create into order to be the person that will achieve those results.

The bottom lins is that who you are being, will drive what you are doing. And that has a massive infleunce on your results.

So, don’t just focus on what you need to do. Give a lot of focus on who you need to be.

The first step to create change is always awareness. So if you are serious about getting the results you really want in all areas of your life, take a good long hard look at these three essential factors for success.

What do you need to do in each area to up your game, your results and your success?

  • Yes! Yes! Yes!

I'd add another but only as a side-thought. Persistance. You've got to keep working towards your goals, relentlessly finding a way through until you hit your target.

  • Spot on Ben. Persistent, consistent action is essential too, along with never giving up.

mindset is a biggie – my husband does counselling and he says that our inner belief systems play a big part in how we deal with life, work, relationships etc

  • Leanne, I totally agree with your husband. It drives everything.

  • And I like ‘who you are being.’ I don’t think we value that in ourselves, or others. Who you are being really talks about values and for some reason we stay away from discussing values these days. I think it’s because we immediately equate values with religion but values need not be tied to religion.
